The casting operations of the aluminum produced in the regeneration hall and its conversion into ingots, slabs and aluminum billets / aluminum alloys are performed in the casting Plants.
South Aluminum Industries Complex has 2 casting Plants No. 1 and 2.
Casthouse No. 1 produces 500 (1000 1,000) and 22.5 (50 50) kg ingots. The capacity of this hall is 175 tons per year.
Casthouse number one has 4 series of fixed holding furnaces with a capacity of 60 tons and 4 ingots casting lines with a production capacity of 20 tons per hour. Molten aluminum is poured from the furnace into the casting lines and cast in the form of ingots. The ingots taken out of the mold, after cooling, are stacked by the robot in a certain order and a bundle is formed. After weighing, packing and labeling, the bundles are finally transferred to the warehouse.
In Casthouse No. 2, billets and alloy slabs are produced. This casthouse has 4 60 ton holding furnaces and two semi-continuous casting lines with direct cooling. By lowering the holding platform at a uniform speed and spraying water simultaneously and continuously freezing, the production of billets and slabs takes place. After The finish casting and production process, alloy billets are placed in homogenization furnaces with a certain temperature for a certain period of time to modify the microstructure and homogenize its chemical composition. After passing quality control tests, the products are cut and packaged and after labeling, they are transferred to the warehouse. The production capacity of Casting Workshop 2 is the production of 70 thousand tons of slabs, 86 thousand tons of billets per year.
